So we’ve de- branded. And now we are But you may ask what your armpits need to be free from?

Every week we get a couple of emails from people asking: “Will PITT BALM stop me from sweating?”

The short answer is: no.

The long answer is: PITT BALM is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. It’ll help to keep you dry, but it won’t stop you from sweating. We’ve already written a blog post about this, if you’re interested.

But I don’t like sweating

Sweating is important, it serves a purpose. It’s what we do when we’re too hot – it’s our body’s way of keeping cool. That’s not something we should mess with by blocking our pores. More importantly, we shouldn’t be embarrassed by this.

The problem isn’t sweat, it’s body odour. If we don’t keep ourselves and our clothes fresh, the buildup of bacteria can cause a proper stink.

When did we become conditioned to believe that sweating was unsightly?

We believe you should be free to sweat if your body needs to. The pores in your armpits shouldn’t be clogged and shut down by potentially harmful chemicals. They should be free do what they need to do without fear of the odour that is associated with sweat.
